Projector Quick Connection is an application that projects images, documents, and web pages from an smart devices onto a Hitachi Projector by transferring them through a wireless LAN (Wi-Fi).


Main Functions

1. Remote Control of the Projector

You can use an smart device to easily control the projector allowing you to have a smooth presentation.

2. Project Images, Documents, and Web Pages

From the "Contents" tab in Projector Quick Connection, you can project images, documents, and web pages onto a Hitachi Projector.

2-1. Project Images
Projector Quick Connection imports images from the smart device Camera Roll and projects them onto a Hitachi Projector.

1. Tap the + button on the upper right corner of the picture.
2. Tap New on the upper right corner of the 'Folder' pop-over to create a new folder.
3. From the Camera Roll, select images to add to the new folder, and then tap the 'Add' button.
4. Tap a folder to project.
5. Select images, and then tap the Project button on the lower left corner to project the pictures.

2-2. Project Documents
You can project various documents through Hitachi projector.
You can project a variety of documents onto a Hitachi Projector. (View specifications)

  1. You can import documents from attachment files of e-mail, Dropbox® and Evernote® etc.
  2. In case of iOS Application, You can add files by using iTunes®. And you can also download/upload documents to iCloud automatically.

* Please refer to 3rd item of "Convenience Function".

Project Documents

  1. In case of Android™ Application, You can add files to folders of Android devices.
    * In case of Android Application, PDF files are only compatible.

2-3. Project Websites
You can project websites onto a Hitachi Projector. You can also save bookmarks of frequently visited sites and easily open those sites.

*Enter a URL
Enter a URL on top of the page to open a web page.
*Add Bookmark
Tap the Option button, and you can add the open web page to bookmarks.

Tap the Project button on the lower left corner to project the web page onto a Hitachi LCD Projector.

Convenience Functions

1. Display Mode
You can split the screen into 4 parts and simultaneously project up to 4 iPads and computers from the Display Mode in the Projection Quick Connection Option Settings tab.

2. Slideshow
You can set a slideshow from "Options" while projecting images, and view the slideshow of the selected images.

1. Tap the Option button on the upper right corner while projecting images, turn the slideshow on, and then set the projection duration.
2. Tap anywhere outside of the pop-over. Once it disappears, the slideshow starts.

* The images in the slideshow switch smoothly, so you can change the order of the images.

3. Press and hold an image whose order you want to change. Once the image icon vibrates, drag it to the desired position.

3. iCloud Setting(Only Apple iOS Device)

Files saved in the Projector Quick Connection "Document" folder are automatically uploaded to iCloud, and the same data can be viewed from iPads and iPhones using the same iCloud account.

-How to turn the iCloud setting On/Off

1. Register an iCloud account.
On Settings in Projector Quick Connection, turn iCloud on.
3. In Content ? [Document, files on iCloud are downloadeds.

* Regardless of the communication speed, such as Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G, files can be uploaded to and downloaded from iCloud.

Note

  1. ­If the iCloud setting is "ON", "Content"-"Document" uses files on iCloud.
  2. ­If the iCloud setting is "OFF", "Content"-"Document" uses files added from iTunes.

-How to add files inserted from iTunes onto iCloud (iCloud setting: "ON")

In order to add documents inserted from iTunes onto iCloud, the files must be manually added to iCloud from the iTunes folder.
* For details about how to add documents from iTunes, refer to the "document files with iTunes" in
"2.Project Documents"

1.Tap the + button on the upper right of the Content ? Document screen.
2. Select the files to add to iCloud from the document list popover menu (Copy From iTunes).
3. Tap the Add button on the upper right of the popover menu after selecting the files.
4. The documents added from iTunes are added to iCloud.

* Documents that are saved on iCloud can not add to iTunes folder.

4. Camera

Camera function can project the caputured images of books and objects that was taken by camera function instead of document camera.

4-1. Photograph Mode

1.Tap Camera located in Contents Tab. 2.Photograph the object. 3.Objects that was captured by  front-face and back-side camera is projected through the Hitachi projector.

* You can use "Marker Function", "Recapture", "Projector Control", and "Option", when it is Photograph Mode.

 

4-2. Preview Mode Setting (Default of preview : off)

When the photograph mode is active, you can set the preview functions tapping the option button.

You can start preview images after  capturing the object under photograph mode, when preview is On .And user can choose project the picture or photograph again. Tap Back button, you can recapture the object . And  tap Project button, you can project captured  object  through to the Hitachi projector.

5. Marker

Marker function can project contents (documents, pictures, web sites, and camera) by using fingers.

5-1. Drawing Function

1. Tap the Pen button that is located  upper right corner, when project  the content. (in iPhone, there is the button bottom of the screen.) 2. Setting color and weight of lines 3. Draw something.

* Choose a pen from Pen button, fluorescence pen button, and figure button.

 

5-2. Open other application / Save the image to the camera roll.

You can save pictures that drew on the display to camera roll in png form. Or open other application.

Tap Option button located upper right corner, you can choose Open in or Save in camera roll, when marker funcion is working.

6. Easy Web Access Control

6-1. Easy Projector Web Access Control

You can access to the projector web control easily that control various settings such as Hitachi projector from web pages.

You need to enter User Name and Password when using projector web control.

User Name and Password is below in default

User Name: Administrator
Password: (there is no password at the time of factory shipment)

Enter User Name and Password, and tap OK button. Then display like below.

* Crestron Room Viewer is made by Flash, so it is incompatible with iOS.

* Please read instruction manual of network, when you need to know the detail of Projector Web Control.

2. Connection Settings

2-1. Configuring Wi-Fi

To connect a Hitachi Projector to Projector Quick Connection, the smart device and Hitachi projector must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
The optional USB wireless adapter (USB-WL-11N) can be needed to make wireless environment.

2-1-1. Configuring an iPad/iPhone Wi-Fi
Use the following instructions to connect an iPad/iPhone to a Wi-Fi network.

  1. On the Home screen, tap the "Settings" icon.
  2. Tap "Wi-Fi" and turn "Wi-Fi" on.
  3. From "Choose a Network," select the network where the Hitachi Projector is registered.

2-1-2. Configuring an Android Wi-Fi
Configuring an Android device Wi-Fi. Use the follwing instructions to connect an Android device to a Wi-Fi network.

  1. On the Home screen, tap the "Settings" icon.
  2. Tap "Wi-Fi" and turn "Wi-Fi" on, and choose a network that is registered by Hitachi Projector.

USB Wireless Adapter (USB-WL-11N)

2-1-3. Configuring a Hitachi Projector Wi-Fi
Use the following instructions to connect a Hitachi Projector to a Wi-Fi network.

  1. Plug the USB wireless adapter to the projector.
  2. From the projector's "Network" - "Wireless LAN Settings,"
    configure the settings.

    * For the wireless LAN settings, refer to the instruction manual (here).


Hitachi Projectors support infrastructure and ad hoc modes.

* It is incompatible to connect Ad hoc mode, when using Android devices.

2-2. Connecting Smart Devices and Projector

Start Projector Quick Connection (PJ Connection), and then tap the "Discovery" button on the upper right corner to perform an automatic search for Hitachi Projectors. Tap the found projector, and then tap the "Save" button to complete the registration of the Hitachi Projector.

1. Start PJ Connection
2. Tap the Discovery button on the upper right corner to automatically search for connectable projectors. A list of the found projectors is displayed.
3. Tap the icon of the projector to connect, select an input channel, and then tap the Save button.
4. The projector is now registered and its icon is displayed. Tap the icon of a projector to connect.

1. Tap the + button on the upper right corner of Discovery.
2. From Setup, select a projector name, IP address and input channel. Tap the
